What money can buy, what money can’t buy

This is a proverb from China.

The things you can buy with money & the things you cannot buy with money.

One can buy a house, but cannot buy a home
One can buy a watch, but cannot buy time
One can buy a bed, but cannot buy sleep
One can buy a book, but cannot buy wisdom
One can buy a skilled doctor, but cannot buy health
One can buy social status, but cannot buy respect
One can buy blood, but cannot buy life
One can buy sex, but cannot buy love

Pepband Trip Doodles

Telephone Sketch
Recently I went on a trip with the pepband to play at the Davis Picnic event. When much was happening in the back of the bus (details that I’ll leave for you to imagine - it’s probably juicier in the imagination anyway ;) ), I was in the front playing a awesome telephone like doodle game. “More”

This claymation More by Mark Osborne, is a short animation that gave me the inspiration to make my own claymation The Things We See which can be found in my portfolio section. Though there are no quotes, I’m putting it under the category of “words of wisdom” since there’s something that can be learned from this video. At least that is what I believe. Post-it-note Alien

Post-it-note AlienHere is a post-it-note Alien I doodled on a very slow day at work. Since I was incapable of falling asleep, I scanned the yellow (original color) post-it, colored, cleaned up, and shaded with my mouse. For those who are gasping and fainting, I will confirm again that I used a mouse. ¿Por qué? since it just needed simple adjustments that could be done quickly with a mouse. Now that I’m actually getting sleepy, gute nacht.

The Master Crayon Artist

Crayons!Do you remember your first box of crayons? When you got it, why you got it, where you got it, who you got it from, and how you got it? Because I don’t and I’m supposedly still in the “Oh you’re young!” age. However, if you do remember, feel free to share it with me! :D Continue reading ‘The Master Crayon Artist’

“Doll Face”

All rights reserved Andy HuangI randomly stumbled upon this short by Andy Huang called “Doll Face.” It is a pretty sad short. If you’re someone who is constantly worried about the way you look because you don’t meet the set “standards,” then maybe by watching this you will realize something. Continue reading ‘“Doll Face”’

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

I hope this poem can encourage people who feel like giving up on their passions and taking the easy road in life - such as listening to your parents about which major you should take, because it will make a lot of money and bring the family status. It’s good to be realistic. I’m not saying rebel, but I want people to know that they should be the ones making their life decisions. It’s a pretty good idea to listen with an open mind, on what others have to say. Just make sure you balance your opinions and other people’s thoughts. What type of consumer are you?

After eating lunch with my mom and making music with my laptop keyboard I came to the conclusion that the weather was perfect for me to slither back into my room and watch the tutorials I downloaded from Pixelperfect. In reality the weather was far from perfect. It had been raining off and on since the morning. Someone was definitely playing with the on/off switch for rain, in who knows where the weather is controlled. It reminded me of the rave video from Homestar Runner, random, but got me to chuckle at the idea.
